The Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice is comprised of eleven different sections, but together they form One Division that is dedicated to defending the rights of all people under U.S. jurisdiction. As part of the Division's efforts to recognize this unity, the various section offices moved to a new office space during the summer of 2019. We had the privilege of crafting a logo for the Division that embodied the spirit of progress and unity that is the driving force behind the One Division campaign.

The logo needed to reflect the history inherent to the Civil Rights Division's important work, but it was equally important that the logo provide a forward-looking and dynamic symbol capable of carrying the Division into the future. The Civil Rights Division logo and the One Division logo were both crafted to accomplish these goals together.
